Erasmus + project

 Germany

A week in four countries and many experiences, we went with 6 children and 2 teachers to Germany!

Sunday: get up very early, have a quick breakfast and then go to Houten castellum.

Saying goodbye to your family and then the train had already arrived. We boarded to Germany! It was a nice and sustainable trip (by train).

In Erfurt, the children were picked up by the host families on their way to adventure!

The first few days took some getting used to for the children, it was a different rhythm in Steinheid, getting up early and going to bed very early.

We were warmly welcomed by the Steinheid Grundschule team, together with the Spanish, French and Maltese teachers and children. The first day the presentations were given in class, the teacher translated it to the class.

We had lunch in the school canteen with all the other children.

On the second day we went to a glass-blowing factory that Thuringia is known for.

There we could see the art of glass blowing. How they, for example made glass angels.

Then the children were allowed to blow glass themselves. We all made one Christmas ball with different colors.

They melted the glass so that you could blow it into shape, then it had to cool and your own blown Christmas bauble was ready. After this wonderful experience, the children and the host family girls were picked up by their parents.

On Wednesday we went from school to the winter sports tracks.

The bobsled, the ski jump, the cross-country skiing and finally the biathlon tracks.

After this we enjoyed the food in the restaurant nearby.

An intensive activity awaited us. We took a walk through the forest in special shoes. After a few snowball fights we handed in the shoes and off we went drive back by bus.

On Thursday we take the bus to a factory.

We drove to Heinrich’s hay factory where we received an explanation of the hay making process. And how it was then exported to the rest of Europe.

Another hay bale race was held and the teachers won after one exciting race. In the evening we all went to a bowling alley where we bowled and ate.

On the last day a performance was given at the school. About a princess in her cloud castle.

In the afternoon the children went out with their host families.

On the day of departure, we said goodbye to the host families in the morning and then we got into the vans (the trains were on strike).

On to the Netherlands!!!!!
