Today we wake up at 6:30 in the morning. When everything was ready we could leave for De Plantage. Then we went to Schiphol. When we got there I said goodbye to my parents and my sister. Afterwards we were allowed to walk through Schiphol alone for a while. And when the time came we went boarding. It took 2 hours and 22 minutes until we arrived in Spain. When we got there we had to take the train for a while, but we had taken the wrong one so we had to wait even longer until we got there. When we arrived at the train station, all the host families were waiting for us. I thought that was very sweet, our host family had a sign that said welcome in 4 languages. When they took me and Yalou home, they introduced themselves: the mother’s name is Patricia, the father’s name is Juan, the eldest girl’s name is Nora and the sister’s name is Alma. After we had given our presents, we were allowed to play in the garden for a while, because at that time the father had made delicious pizzas. But we had to get used to the fact that we didn’t eat until 8/9.

Today we went to school for the first time, the mother took us. We received a wonderful welcome, because the children sang and danced for us. Then we were allowed to go to the first lesson, we had English and then math. Then we went to the canteen at 2 p.m. to have a hot meal instead of a sandwich. When it was 4 p.m. we were allowed to go home again and we played in the garden and ate at 8 o’clock and then we went to bed
TU
Today we went to the mountains with children from school. We had to make notes of everything we saw, it was super beautiful there. They had a project called the Butterfly Project. This means that every flap of a butterfly can make a big difference in its sustainability. Which flaps were there, for example: Reuse clothes and not throw them away, Use as little plastic as possible, etc.

Today was the big day, because we had to give a presentation to the class. The children really enjoyed it, especially when we handed out stroopwafels 😉
TH
Today we went to the village of Alpedrete. It was very nice, first we went to a museum about granite. Then we went to a church and then to the mayor who showed us his office. And we were allowed to take a photo on the balcony.

Today we went to Madrid, we first had to take the bus and then the metro. When we arrived in Madrid we were given a map and we had to do a treasure hunt. After that we were very tired.

Today we went back home. We were checked in and soon we could board the plane. When we arrived our parents were there. And we all went home safely.
